In today’s fast paced world, you may have flown on a plane, have considered it, or you know someone who has. What could be worse than you getting on a plane and then suddenly your skin decides to rebel against you? Sure, it’ll be fine in a few days, but on the trip home your skin does it again! The biggest culprit behind those woes is dehydration. The air on a plane sucks the moisture out of your skin at an alarming rate. There’s no real fresh air on a plane so you’re breathing recycled air for who knows how long. Don’t let this put you off air travel. There are some simple things you can do to make sure your skin is happy and healthy looking when you arrive at your destination.
Take a few minutes to clean your skin beforehand. That also means going make up free during your flight. If you wear make up on your flight, your skin will have a harder time breathing than it already does during the flight. Hydrating products won’t be able to sink in as much as they could during the flight so it’s best to go bare faced.
Be sure to drink plenty of water. True, it’s a pain if you have to get up often to pee, but all those bathroom trips are nothing compared to having your skin rebel against you on the flight. Drinking plenty of water also helps you with that dreaded airplane bloat.
Use a portable sheet mask. Don’t feel odd if you’re using one while up in the air. You’ll most likely never see your fellow passengers again and they’ll forget all about it later in the day. If you feel especially daring, pretend you’re a famous person and the joke is on them for not recognizing you. Look for a sheet mask that is full of hydrating and calming ingredients. Use it for as long as you like or until the sheet dries up. Sheet masks are very useful as they’re individually packed and easy to throw away when you’re done.
Now that you’re prepared to have healthy, happy skin on your next flight, where are you traveling to? The sky is truly the limit!
